Jimmy "THE BRICK" Flick - A Short Documentary (Preview)
As Jimmy "THE BRICK" Flick prepares for his UFC comeback fight in Las Vegas on Saturday, January 14th, I'm releasing a preview of the short documentary I've been shooting for almost a year (with more still to shoot) about Jimmy's life, retirement and comeback. I am planning to release the film this spring. When I met Jimmy about a year and half ago, I liked him immediately and thought his story would make a compelling documentary. I can honestly say that my admiration and respect for him has only grown since then. He has overcome so much adversity in his life and worked incredibly hard to achieve his dreams. It has been a privilege and a real pleasure to work on this project and although I can't wait for people to see it, I will be sad to have this experience come to an end. I'm particularly grateful to Jimmy for his unwavering support and participation in this project. Learn more about the story behind Jimmy "The Brick" Flick - A Short Documentary and help me reach my goal to complete and distribute this remarkable and inspirational story. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/jimmy-the-brick-flick-a-short-documentary#/ Music licensed by artlist.io - "In the Clouds" by Be Still the Earth

Iron Gate Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry 45th Anniversary and 10th Annual Founders Dinner
Iron Gate's mission is simple. They feed the hungry of Tulsa—every day. They feed people in three ways, through their soup kitchen, grocery pantry and Kids Pantry. Iron Gate celebrates their 45th anniversary this year. In 1978, three Trinity Episcopal Church parishioners, Keenan Barnard, Gene Buzzard and Rev. John C. Powers, stepped outside a men’s Bible study class to make a homeless man a sandwich. The ministry grew and the word on the street spread: “If you’re hungry, go to the church with the iron gate.” Iron Gate legally separated from the church and became its own 501(c)3 organization in 1984. Since opening, Iron Gate has never turned anyone away who was hungry. After 41 years in the basement of Trinity Episcopal Church, Iron Gate moved into a new facility in Downtown Tulsa. Thanks to the generosity of private foundations, corporations, the faith community and individuals, they continue serving the hungry of Tulsa—every day. Iron Gate strives to be a friendly, welcoming place where all are greeted with a smile—a place of comfort and wholesome food, and a temporary respite from the major problems awaiting their guests outside their gates—unemployment, poverty, health care, shelter, transportation and more.
